Happy Hearts Park (happyhearts)
in Tobermory, Ontario
The camping staff/owners were very rude. We were a group of 12 ppl, 5 adults e 6 kids. From the check in time to the time to leave, we felt not welcome there. Under the impression because we not pure white Canadian...All places were sold out, unfurtunataly we had to stay. Very price, playground still under construction, pool was dirty, showers has no privacy! Will never come back.

Highland Pines Campground and RV Sales in Belwood, Ontario
Let me preface this review by saying we normally prefer staying at Provincial Parks because we like the wilderness experience. They provide a consistent experience regarding facilities. We are here at Highland Pines north of Fergus for a family gathering with lots of young children. It seems that some reviewers have had issues with this park. We have experienced none of these problems. The only dealings we have had with staff is at the main office and they have been friendly and helpful. We find the park to be well maintained, the facilities are very clean. There are many activities for children. For example, there was a dance Saturday night with a DJ and the kids were having a great time. Our nieces and nephews had a wonderful time. As adults found that the lack of loud music to be refreshing. (and we like our music) We've been here for three nights.
"Wonderful family campground, clean, friendly, lots of activities for young people."

Woodland Park in Sauble Beach, Ontario
"Nice Park"......
We ha a back-in site which was about 50' x 60' for our 38' RV. The site was in with seasonal sites and it was very private and very quiet. The park is well maintained, we didn't experience any septic problems but while walking the dogs could smell some areas which seemed to have septic issues and we did see septic trucks in the park. The front counter staff weren't that friendly but did answer our questions and provided asistance when asked. The positive about this park is that it is only a five minute walk to town of Sauble Beach, grocery store and LCBO which made it easy as we don't pull a vehicle behind our RV. Very nice well kept park and we may visit again.

Sauble Beach Resort Kamp in Sauble Beach, Ontario
"Terrible Park"......
We were at Woodland RV Park but couldn't get a site for the long weekend (even though we had stayed 14 nights. We had reservations at Fisherman's Cove in Kincardine (don't go unless you like kids and lots of noise)but needed a place to stay for 3 nights. We booked a pull-thru as our RV is 38' but knew we had made a mistake when we arrived at our site as the RV barely fit in the site. We only had a few feet between us and the sites beside us so we could hear everything they said. My wife was so disgusted she didn't leave our RV for almost the entire stay. It is obvious the owners are only interested in making money as the squeezed as many people in a possible. My only question is why would you buy a seasonal site in a dump like this? Also the name Sauble Beach "RESORT" is very, very misleading and so far from a resort it isn't even funny!! Stay away from this park unless you like feeling like a sardine. WON'T BE BACK TO THIS HOLE!!!!

Fishermans Cove Tent and Trailer Park in Kincardine, Ontario
"Over Priced"......
I booked a pull-thru site which was a bit high but compared to KOA was reasonable. The site was at the end of the pull-thru area and no trees or shrubs to provide privacy from the 8 sites which were across from us. all back-in sites had tress or shrubs between sites but the most expensive pull-thru sites had nothing to provide privacy. The camp is obviously for families as it was very noisy with kids running, riding bikes through our site, while screaming loudly all day and night (even in a loud thunderstorm and pounding rain). The first night of our stay a number of sites had a party that lasted until 3am even though there is an 11pm curfew and a park patrol that is suppose to enforce the rules. I complained the next morning and no more parties after 11pm but still noisy during the day. You have to pay extra for everything and prices are higher than reasonable. Nice park, people aren't that friendly and we definitely won't be returning. Tips for owners: Maybe a seniors area away from all the screaming kids. Small trees between pull-thru sites and especially for site 21 along the road, so you don't feel like all the 8 back-in sites aren't watching your every move.

"Love it here!"......
My family and I absolutely love it here. We can't say enough about it. It has a wonderful family atmosphere and plenty of activities. My kids keep begging to go back. The owner, Dale, is so helpful and accommodating. I would have no problem recommending this place to all of my family and friends. We'll definitely be back.

Camping Panoramique in Portneuf, Québec
"The worst campground across Canada"......
The campground adverts itself as "Panoramique", eg having a view over the St. Laurence River - nope; only few privileged sites have a view; the restaurant was awful, the worst food we ever had. The pool closes at eight - and this for 60 CAD!! NB: We traveled from Vancouver to Halifax, this was the worst campground we ever stayed at!

"Red Oak Travel Park"......
Awesome and clean park!! My hubby and I have camped there for 40 years now and still there. Good size lots and clean bathrooms! Have a nice rec hall where activities go on for children and adults as well. There is horseshoes, basket ball courts, trampoline, play ground, and a big pool. The owner Dale is very friendly and always there to help you. The Park is close to store malls and grocery stores. We have Christmas in July and Halloween later in the season which is a big hit. I would recommend this Park!!

Red Oak Travel Park in Eden, Ontario
"Awesome Little Park"......
Red Oaks is a small family campground in Eden. It was a family favorite of mine when I was growing up!! Soooo many memories were made there!. Recently I took my husband there to go camping and we had a great time!! Dale, the new owner of the park, about 5-6 years ago is a very friendly, approachable and very helpful man if you need anything. The members of the park are very friendly. The park is close to London, Aylmer, St. Thomas etc and close to the lake (Port Bruce) if you are looking for some fishing. The good size lots are wonderful for any size trailer and family. There is lots to do at this park. I remember many train rides around the park as a youngster. Theres's a pool, mini put, horseshoes, trampoline, basketball to name a few activities. The camp also puts on crafts, games, Bingo, karaoke, street dances and many other activities for the young and old. This is a wonderful small family park!! It offers many things to do to create wonderful, long lasting memories for the young and old (and those in between)!! HIGHLY recommend this park on your next camping adventure!!!! <3 <3

Have stayed in this park for a long time. This park is one of the cleanest and most accommodating parks in Ontario, with a staff that goes out of it's way to make you feel welcomed.Great activities for both children and adults. If you are looking for a weekend getaway, or an extended vacation, this is the place to go.

Pleasure Park Campground and RV Resort in Mallorytown, Ontario
"Really Nice Place, but extremely expensive"......
This campsite is a very nice place. The Beach is nice, the lake is weedy but OK when you get farther out. The facilities are really clean. They do, however, charge you for each and every thing you do. Bring lots of money because these people are GREEDY. Most campgrounds over-charge for firewood, but this place is ridiculous. Not only will they gauge you.... the bunch of firewood we got from them had two pieces that were slightly charred. Clearly, they picked them out of a firepit from a previous camper and then re-sold it! don't bother complaining or asking for anything because once you've paid your money they don't care. The customer service is very poor. Having said all that, I will admit that the place is well maintained.

"jean"......
We were a group of 20 campers, 10 sites, that spent 5 nights in Port Elgin at Kenorus Campground. We were all impressed with the cleanliness of the grounds, the pool was pristine and the washrooms were beautiful. The weather turned cool while we were there and the bathrooms were then equipped with heaters. The new owners are awesome, accommodating in every way possible. Our group was having what we call, a community meal, one evening and the owners opened their recreation room for us to use. A GREAT FIVE DAYS AT KENORUS

The customer service is terrible. If you have a trailer site, you still need to pay $30.00 to set up a tent on the same lot. So if you have a small trailer and have children then you are paying double the price. I think that the new owners need to evaluate the way things are run. I will not be back to this campground.

Cedar Shade Campground in Alfred, Ontario
I had many safety concerns when staying here. We have 5 kids ranging from 7 to 14. The quarry filled with water has a platform kids jump off of. Bottom platform is directly below top platform. If bigger kids jump off without being careful of younger kids below, a child could die or be seriously injured, as the platform is pretty high. I concerned enough to pull kids out. Water is so dark, a child could drown and no one would notice, as you can't see the bottom. The swinging Tarzan rope is also a concern, if kids miss letting go, there are rocks everywhere along the cliff-like edge. Very crowded campground, hardly any space between sites. Loud and bad language is everywhere. Kids are often left unsupervised and as the campground is busy and full, the layout does not allow parents to keep an eye on the kids easily. Basically, it is an ok campground, but there is surely a lawsuit looming, the day someone gets seriously injured. I find it hard to believe an insurance company would insure a place such as this...Our kids enjoyed it, but safety wise, it is quite scary!

"We return every year."......
Read a poor review of this place and had to counter it. We return every year. The owner wants to keep his place enjoyable for all so does watch out for things like public alcohol and general good behaviour - it's actually appreciated by most campers. There's a fun pool that the kids live in, a river to tube down (with tube rentals), elk to visit, a playground for the kids, shuffleboard, wagon rides, outdoor movies, chicken dinner nights, makek your own sundae nights, horseshoes, daily events in the summer, and great group camping areas. I could float down the river all day. Our cycling kids like to bike all day. The Maitland trail is nearby for an awesome hike. Our fishing friends like to hit the river early in the morning. We play games like capture the flag in the space between sites.

"Paradise Valley gets AAA from me"......
If your looking for a great place to vacation go here. The managers go out of there way to help you. There staff are amazing and the seasonals around the park are very welcoming to everyone. They have 2 new pools and one new playground along with 2 other big playgrounds. This is a great place to take the kids but if your looking for a old folks home (where you go to bed at 9pm this is not the place for you.) The managers make sure the noise is down by 11pm. Thanks For the great vacation can't wait t to come back next year.

Brannen Lake Campsites in Nanaimo, British Columbia
Well, i can say that are not for those who are not that much physically- or materially-prepared for camping. Although the Brennen campground did not provide what some highly expected from it, our experience from it was indeed worth remembering. Yes, i can say that some campgrounds cannot exceed or reach our expectations especially when it comes to seasons and security, but proper readiness can turn these "unexpectations" to a camping event worth experiencing.

"Hope Valley Campground Rocks"......
While every campground was full for a monthly site, they made room for me when no one else would. The owners are very kind and try very hard to make sure everyone is happy. Rates are very good and you have access to an outdoor pool in the summer. Washrooms are always clean and they have a laundry room that is quite cheap. I would highly recommend this camp ground and they are open year round for those who want to camp in the winter.

"Wow! What a view to wake up to!"......
Stayed overnight here on a road trip. We were tent camping, bare bones style and came across this campground as we neared Perce. We were given an open field site right on the edge of the cliff looking directly at Rocher Percer. What a view!!! Site was sufficient with water there and big enough for our little tent and our truck. No privacy, but tent placement provided enough. Washrooms were immaculate, nice hot water showers included which was welcome as it was 3 degrees in the morning! Owner was very nice. Cash only for fees and need to go into town for firewood.

"Good location for a road trip stopover"......
We were on an Acadian Trail/ Gaspe road trip and were nearing the end of our day. We pulled in here and got a site for our little tent. We had the choice of the woods or along the tree line. We chose the woods as it was very private and no one was there. Great site, nice and big, good fire pit and easy stroll to facilities. Only drawback was the highway noise from trucks until about 1am. It was very quiet from then until about 5am when the trucks started rolling again. Should have chose the tree line as this would have been further from the road. Remember, we were in a tent so an RV would be quieter.
"Great place, would stay again, just choose a different site."

"Great Family Campground"......
This is simply a lovely family-owned campground. The only draw-back here is that they are almost entirely seasonal and only have 4 sites in total for the overnight camper. These sites are used for friends and family of the seasonal campers first, so it's hard to get a site here. If you are lucky enough to get one, you won't be disappointed! The owners are really nice and the son, who I think does most of the work there, always has a smile on his face - never saw him without it actually!! Really nice kid. Lake is great for fishing and they have a nice dock system if you bring a boat. Just thought of one other draw-back - they don't have wifi - but they are in the boonies and have to use satellite themselves, so I can easily see why. We go camping to enjoy the outdoors and all it has to offer, not for an internet hook-up anyway, so it didn't matter to us. Everything else about this place makes up for the lack of internet - washrooms are fantastic (even have real shower curtains - what??? Yes, real fabric shower curtains!) We will definitely be back! Thanks Duin Family

Highland Pines Campground and RV Sales in Belwood, Ontario
"The best place to go camping as advertised?"......
1. Fun atmosphere? If you don’t mind: • The owner taking your money, but not caring about your enjoyment of the park • That’s it’s irrelevant that you paid to enjoy the campground until Thanksgiving weekend, but the park starts to saw trees down and mulch them in order to get sites ready that are not going to be used until next year’s season. • That the rules are not consistent with everyone. 2. Relaxed atmosphere? If you don’t mind: • Watching adult men and/or their kids pee off their spot in the open, even though they have a bathroom in their unit. • The loud and obnoxious drunks getting louder the more they drink until the early hours of the morning • Loud music, way past the “quiet time” • The screaming and bratty out of control kids due to lack of parenting. • Kids running through and around your spot day and night, particularly in the early morning because their parents send them off to annoy everyone else, while they sleep in and recover from their hangover. • The constant noise of a “house window” air conditioner (which are not supposed to be allowed in campgrounds) • The mowers, the leaf blowers and the golf carts constantly going up and down the lane ways 3. Safe atmosphere? If you don’t mind: • The drug dealer racing up and down constantly in their golf cart at all hours of the day and night to do their deals • While you try to enjoy a “nice” walk around the park, inhaling the clouds of dust from all the golf carts going by and almost getting hit by the teenagers, (most under aged) racing around in them, with alcohol in hand (not even attempting to hide the fact) or from the kids who can’t even reach the pedals, driving around with an adult beside them, who has to quickly reach and hit the brakes to avoid hitting someone and/or something
"If you don’t mind any of the above, then this campground is absolutely perfect for you!! For those that still enjoy camping and nature for what it’s"

Campground is small and very nice.. owners are very friendly. Wish the pool was heated and bigger.. It is too small for adults to enjoy with kids in it.. Maybe suggest having adult swim times enforced. Only other issue we had when we stayed was children wandering campground and playing at playground at 11pm at night.
