Alberta Maximum trailer width: 2.6 meters (8 feet 5 inches). Mobile living accommodations - 3.05 meters (10 feet)

Maximum trailer height: 3.85 meters (12 feet 6 inches)

Maximum trailer length: 12.5 meters (41 feet)

Vehicle combinations permitted? Up to 3 vehicles total

Maximum combined length: 20 meters (66 feet)

Lighting: Two tail, two brake and license plate lights are required. Turn signals, clearance and side markers also required.

Brakes: If gross laden weight of trailer is 909kg (2,004lbs) or over, or if gross trailer weight is over half that of the unit, independent braking system is required.

Safety chain(s) required: Yes

Other: Two side view mirrors are required on towing vehicles where rear view is obstructed by the trailer. Riding is allowed in truck campers.

Other: Two mirrors are needed when view is obstructed and must give a clear view 60 meters (197 feet) to rear. Extended mirrors must be removed when not towing. All trailers 1.8 meters (5 feet 9 inches) or longer require one amber light near each of the front corners of the trailer and one red light near each of the rear corners of the trailer.

Brakes: Independent braking system is required in each weight-bearing wheel where gross weight exceeds 1,300kg (2,867lbs).

Safety chain(s) required: All trailers without an automatic brake-system must be equipped with chains, cables or other sufficient safety devices.

Other: Left and right rear view mirrors are required. Riding is allowed in truck campers only if seatbelt used. Overnight camping in rest areas is not allowed. All RV's are required to have flares or reflective signs if wider than 2 meters (6.5 feet).

Brakes: Independent braking system required if gross weight exceeds 910kg (2,007lbs) or one-half licensed weight of towing vehicle.
